Dieffenbachia or Leopard Lily, a fast growing low maintenance plant, popular with interior designers for their colorful large leaves. It flaunts its lush green leaves which are literally stroked with a painter’s brush in creamy-white variegation. The leaf grains of Dieffenbachia will add color and texture to your interior without flowers. It is a good choice for tight, out of reach spaces in your home. Leopard lily will grow upto 3 to 6 feet with leaves upto 10 to 12 inches wide, if provided with ideal conditions. Detailed Care Guide
Light: Bright indirect sunlight.
Water: Water once a week. Make sure the top of the soil is completely dry before watering.
Pet-friendly: Toxic if ingested.
Humidity: Does well at normal humidity from 40%-60%.
Temperature: This plant likes fairly warm conditions. 65℉-75℉ is admirable.
Fertilizer: Dieffenbachias are heavy feeders. Feed them complete fertilizer i.e.20:20:20 every month during the growing season for excellent growth. The plant will not have large leaves and colorful patterns without fertilizer.
Repotting: Repot annually, when the roots start poking out from the surface. Use a well-draining and well-aerated potting mix. Choose a pot not larger than 2 inches than the original.
Yellow Leaves:- Overwatering or underwatering this plant can turn leaves yellow. The soil should be moist at all times but not soggy. Check if the top layer of soil is dry by sticking your finger into the soil. If it's wet, hold back on watering for a few days. Water the plant only when the top layer is dry but also don't let the plant sit in dried soil for a long period.
Drooping Leaves: Dieffenbachia droops its leaves when it is receiving too much sunlight. However if the plant turns its leaves yellow and then droops then it is not getting enough light. Move the plant in front of a window where it receives ample Sunlight.
